PRIMER IS PRIMARY

Hope you all had an awesome weekend, well the weekend is almost here again so get ready to turn up (in Kevin Hart's voice), but while you're turning it up one thing is sure no one wants to look at your oily face in the club, at a wedding or anywhere at all.
Oily face is every woman's nightmare I know ladies would give anything to ensure their faces remain matte all day but hardly know what to use or how to even go about it in the first place. Well, search no more we're talking primers today, yes some of us still don't know what a primer is, what it is used for and how important it is for makeup and if you're wondering if there are really any benefits to using a makeup primer, yes there are and I'd like to enlighten you.
Here are my top favourite reasons to use a makeup primer

SEALS PORES

One of the main benefits of using a makeup primer is it seals your pores. I've never had large pores, but if you use a liquid foundation like I do, be sure that no matter how small your pores are, a liquid foundation can make them more visible. A makeup primer takes care of all that by sealing pores and creating a blanket over them.

SMOOTH SOFT SILKY SKIN

Another reason I love to use a primer is for the way it softens your skin creating a smooth surface for your makeup to glide on. It makes your skin velvety soft, which enhances the smooth effects it has on your makeup appearance, which is another benefit of using a primer. It's really such an alluring appearance, it's hard to go without using one after you get used to it.

NON-COMEDOGENIC (grammar....lol)

This simply means that a primer will not cause break outs or irritate your skin. They also won't clog pores at all for this reason, don't worry if your skin is prone to clogged pores or acne.

ANTI-AGING

Most makeup primers don't really have anti-aging ingredients. However, what they do is make your skin appear much more youthful since they smooth out fine lines. This creates a more youthful appearance and reduces the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

LONG LASTING MAKEUP

The main reason for using a primer is because it helps your makeup last longer. Primer helps decrease sweating through the pores, which makes your makeup stay in place longer. They also act as a natural shield for dust, water and debris that might make your makeup wear off.

LIGHT WEIGHT

If you are worried about a makeup primer making you feel like you have a mask on, don't worry! They create a nice, soft finish to the skin that's almost like a velvety, super soft lotion. Honestly, my skin feels lighter and more beautiful with a makeup primer, than without.

EASY APPLICATION

Primer application is not rocket science, simply apply as you would your normal face cream, it is advisable to apply mainly on your T-zone but I personally apply all over my face. Also avoid packing it on a good primer will only require very little product on your face.

ALL SKIN TYPES
The best part about using a primer is they work with any skin colour. There are no shades to choose from (though some makeup brands are beginning to do that **rolling my eyes**) so selection is easy.
